"Ku-Kua" Cold Cast Bronze Sculpture

Made of cold cast bronze with a polyresin base, this fine art sculpture was released for Fall Modernism Week 2024 in Palm Springs. It inspired the Recent Acquisition fine art print, which features an image of "Ku-Kua" in the foreground.

Here are some thoughts from Shag about his "Ku-Kua" sculpture:

"This is my first cold cast bronze sculpture, "Ku-Kua." In this piece, I tried combining elements of traditional Polynesian carving with the figural abstraction of early 20th-century sculptors such as Henry Moore and Jacques Lipchitz. It has been in the works since before the pandemic and I am thrilled it's finally here."
